If you want a real Melbourne experience, my suggestion would be to go to an AFL game (Australian Rules), have a coffee in a hidden cafe in one of the city laneways, and dine out at one of the many restaurants in the city. If you are looking for low-cost siteseeing, there are plenty of sites in Melbourne that are free, such as the Botanic Gardens, St Kilda Beach, etc, etc. www.thatsmelbourne.com.au will give you some ideas too. Enjoy your trip!

Hi saverineajayus,

If its sight seeing you are after you can organise a day tour from corner Collins Street and Bourke Street to The Great Ocean Road or Phillip Island (You can see penguins there)

St Kilda is also nice, you can check out the beach, shop, restaurants, hire a bike, Luna Park..

If you have time to travel maybe have a look down at Geelong you can catch the V line it takes about an hour.

The Yarra Valley is a fair drive outside of Melbourne, but you can visit beautiful Wineries like Chandon and do some taste testing. You can even organise a Hot Air Balloon ride beforehand!

If its shopping you are interested in, Chadstone is the largest shopping centre in Melbourne, then there's other other shopping areas like Highpoint, Chapel Street, Victoria Markets.

Hope this information helps!

Kind Regards,
