Moscow sentimental journey
Posted: Fri March 20, 2009 02:15 PM UTC
I'm contemplating a return visit to Moscow, 41 years after the last one.

Ideally, it would be during the ice hockey season, but I may be overruled on that.

I suspect July and August may be too hot, and June or September may be better.

Any thoughts?

Oh, and does the ice hockey season start in September?

this season has started on September 2, 2008. and will finish in the beginning of April. this year the ice-hockey championship could start later. but some says it will start earlier cause of Olympic games and maybe cause increasing the quantity of teams that take part in KHL League. in any way no official info for the next season. in any way July and August is early for sure!!

I suppose you prefer sunny and warm weather. For Moscow it is summer, as in any other place of the world. the warm weather with +15+20 starts in the end of April and may get +30+35 some time (like last year) in july and august.

for now, last week of March, it was -6+2, frozing for the night and the morning time. last 2 days it was snowing a bit.

I quite agree with Andrey once again! In my opinion the best season for excursions in Moscow is between the end of May and the end of June.
