State of Tasmania Hobart Accomodation
Posted: Wed March 18, 2009 11:32 AM UTC
Planning a trip to Hobart and would like to know if any members have stayed at the Quest Waterfront or Mantra One Sandy Bay and provide me with their opinion and experiences whether good or bad. We would be staying for 8 nights. Looking for the best central location as we will be there as tourists and wish to do as much as possible before driving onto Launceston for another 8 days touring.

I'm wondering if you have actually booked any accommodation yet?
Tasmania is big and there is lots to see, if you just base yourself in Hobart and Launceston for 8 days each you will be doing a lot of 'to and fro' driving;
Hobart-Port Arthur-Hobart, Hobart-Freycinet-Hobart, Launceston-Cradle Mt-Launceston, etc.
Might be better to book in 4 or 5 places so you don't have to do so much driving.

If you haven't already booked your Hobart Hotel, I can highly recommend the Hotel Grand Chancellor right on the waterfront at Constitution Dock. I had five days there not too long ago and it was really wonderful.
