The Gambia Travel to Georgetown
Posted: Tue March 17, 2009 11:04 AM UTC
6 Years ago I took a very interesting bus ride to Georgetown. Since this time I have heard there are no more buses travveling this route as the roads are too bad. Is this true and if so what is the best way to get to Janjanbureh. I do not wiah to join a tourist organised trip - keep it real!!
Thank you everyone

Well Thats true but if you are coming to Gambia again and would love to go to Janjanbureh it would be nice not to join a tourist bus.My friend Omar is from there and is working on projects of developing tourism he have a great experience of it.I can inform it to him and he can help you visit there without been with tourist bus, which is more cheaper and he will even help you enjoy and experience the really village life. Were if you want you might even have a stay with the locals watch them cook do laundry and if possible join them.Is just up to you to decide. But am sure you will love it and if you are interested just drop back a message.

I did all my tours with local guides, it is a good chance to really get to know the country and the people. I went up to Niokolo Koba in Senegal, Dakar and Casamance that way.
You hire a guide with a car and take the route on the northbank, that's easy. I also know some guides and some birdwatchers who are very reliable. Just drop me a note.
