there are basic, small, clean hotels chain of the group ACCOR,
see accorhotels.com
I use the chain very often on travels in France;mostly the novotel and mercure brands.
You will have a good service there, never a problem for using it for years. The area is nice,it is on the N7 towards Nice, you take the expressway=autoroute A8 and get off at exit 47 to the N7 ;right after the toll (péage), then left direction Antibes with the green highway sign saying antibes, then further 3 km on the N7 ,the hotel is right after the Intermarche supermarket on your right hand side.
If you have a car, and looking for basic accommodations that can take you anywhere, then this is ok.

Formule 1 hotels are very basic, probably with very few staff. They are generally considered clean and acceptable. I haven't stayed in this one, but I'm familiar with its location. Villeneuve Loubet is not in Nice - it's several kilometres west of the airport, which is itself several kilometers west of Nice. Still, I have stayed in Villeneuve Loubet and found it a good location. There are trains running towards Nice and the other way towards Cannes. Buses also. There are supermarkets and shops, with a good selection of cafes, bars restaurants etc at Marina Baie des Anges.

Thanks a lot for your replies.
I've been checking the Accor site and found very interesting prices. The only problem is that I'm going by car, so parking is an issue. I've seen that some of the Ibis hotels in Nice have public parking with charge.
Any idea of how much that parking cost on a daily basis?
Any free parking on the area?
Thanks again and regards,
Rafa

its true that i stay in mercure and novotel, but have stay at least once in Ibis, never had to pay parking. Do not know how you read in Nice they charge for parking???
there is parking in NIce all over, best by promenade des anglais near casino are two parking garages. There is parking at the gare but these are paying parking about 1,20 euros first half hour then gradually up, about 20 euros for 24 hrs.
just get to the Accor site, find the email for that hotel or hotels you are considering it, and ask them for the parking question. Do it in English, they will respond to you back. Good luck, and car is the best way to travel ::)
