Re: Best time for visit in Hanoi Posted: Mon March 16, 2009 11:03 AM UTC
Hello! Vietnam is really a long country. It stretches over 1.800 km from north to south, and weather patterns in main tourist cities i.e. Sapa, Hanoi, Hue, Hoi An, Saigon ... are very different, as you see. There are 4 seasons in the North (like other countries in EU or in America) but only 2 seasons in the South (rainy season and dry season). Nov-Apr is not rainy season, but little rainfall; however, tropical storms, typhoon, .. sometimes hit the Northeast portion and Central Coastline provinces of Vietnam. The North is more often cooler than the South. In the last 2 - 3 years, the collest temparature in Hanoi is about 8 - 10 Celcius, in Sapa - 2 Celcius with snow, and Hue is about 12 Celcius. Warm clothes is highly recommended esp. if you tour to Sapa, even though sometimes Sapa is hot. Humidity is really high in Vietnam, up to 85% in most of the days. Another thing I would like to tell is your travel time is in high season of tourism in Vietnam, so if possible please try to book flights, trains .. asap to make sure that you will be on right place at the right as you plan. PM me for any further queries. Love Vietnam! Nice trip!
