advance tickets

we're taking a day trip to cordoba on march 21st (in 10 days!); is it necessary to buy AVE tickets in advance? can you still get a good price by buying at Atocha the day before? thanks for your suggestions! the link on the renfe website to buy tickets isn't working right now....

I would buy them the day before. If you at your hotel in Madrid, you may be able to buy them directly on line if your concierge is accomodating. Sometimes it can be a little line crazy trying to buy them the day of, but that may be because it was not clear to me what I was supposed to do. Karl
