Visiting Colombia August for 5 days( Delta has a great deal right now),and flying right down to Villavicencio the next morning. Any ideas and a cheap but clean hotel close to airport( I arrive at 11pm- and flight next day is 0900hrs)- and a good one in Bogota for two nights at weekend - I am actually not looking for a hotel in a touristy area... I love travelling and hanging with the locals in a colmado or something, and feeling the real vibe of the city.. so if someone can direct me to a nice area , but not top of the line hotel but real instead, that would be great.Many thanks

In Bogota I always stay at the Hotel Dann Norte (around 80 USD a night) and for longer stays I stay with my friends at the Hostal Bogota Real (around 50 USD a night). Have a look at my pages to read my reviews on them.
Delta has great deals? From here (the Netherlands) Continental and Avianca have better deals...

Hi - thanks for the response - I remeber you from last year. I never did make it to Colombia when I had planned in April 2008- but this August it's a go. I paid only $298.00 including tax with Delta from JFK to Bogota direct round trip- I thought that was excellent.
