Hi All , While visiting Egypt next month I want to squeeze in Petra ...We will be in Taba and plan to get to the Jordan boarder bright and early in the morning, does anyone know if one taxi can accommadate 6 people ? Is there any other way to get there and back with out a tour group (like a bus) ? And, How much is the taxi ride
Thank You in Advance, Meg

Taxies can only take 5 people. Your best off catching one of the mini buses.

The bus from Amman to Petra is only 8JD, i'm assuming it would be around the same.

You will also need a couple of days to explore Petra, its a huge mass of land!!

Realistically a taxi will only fit 3 people comfortably especially if you all have back packs - you would need 2. I am assuming you will be coming from Aqaba, if you head to the local bus station the mini bus ride is not so bad and only costs 2JD each, but there is also share taxis there which we only paid 5JD each for which is far cheaper than a taxi to Petra from the border.
