Tel Aviv-Yafo Restaurants near the Sheraton?
Posted: Sun March 8, 2009 09:53 PM UTC
Are there any good,(but not really expensive) restaurants near the Sheraton open Fri evening? (Not Jewish so don't need Kosher).
Thank you for any help.

Shalom, not sure exactly where the Sheraton is, but believe it is adjacent to the shoreline in Tel-Aviv. If so the Neve Tzedik area is also on the shoreline and they have a few excellent restaurants like NG. If the restaurant was Kosher it would not be open on a Friday night.

As mentioned by Martin, if you refer to one of the two Sheratons by the sea (the 3rd is the City Tower, located near the diamond exchange), then there are quite a few options (after all it is Tel Aviv where most restaurants, or many of, are not Kosher anyway):

“Whit Hall” is a well known meat restaurant quite near:

“Yotveta Ba’Ir” is a sea side “Diary Diner” type of place (Pastas, Fish etc.) that serves large courses, in rather low prices: 78 Herbert Samuel (the Promenade) st.

BTW for general knowledge: With few exceptions (In the far north, where they have some sort of compromise with the Kashrut observers) places that are open of Friday evening/Saturday till afternoon, could not be Kosher anyway… (Hotel dining hall excluding).

Hi,
Both restaurants mentioned aren't the best, to say the least. If indeed you're staying in one of the two beachfront Sheratons, there are dozens of restaurants within a 10-15 mins. walkimg distance. Unfortunately, I don't know of a comprehensive restaurant website in English, but if you give me a direction as for the sort of food you'd like to eat, I could give you some suggestions.

"Both restaurants mentioned aren't the best, to say the least"...
Well the NG may not be high priced, but you get a very good meal for a decent price. You can see photos on my pages.
