Discount airline connecting Sri Lanka with Himalayan India, or Nepal?

I am looking for a discount airline (flying Colombo to any Indian Himalayan city (i.e. Srinigar, or Dehradun, or even Amritsar), as long as it's nearby the tallest mountains. Also, a Colombo-Kathmandu flight would be nice as well. I am looking for a discount airline, or to go this route for under 100-200euro, max.

Thanks

Only low cost airlines from Colombo to India are Air India Express and Jetlite to Chennai.

There are no low cost airlines from Colombo to Nepal and no direct flights.

You can find find flight to Srinagar (from EUR 176), Dehradun (from EUR 274), Amritsar (from EUR 263) and Kathmandu (from EUR 207) in May at http://www.cleartrip.com/

Recently while in India, I was told that Sri Lankan is withdrawing its services from Trichy, Bangalore and Cochin and MIHIN LANKA will be flying those routes. MIHIN LANKA was also supposed to be flying to GAYA.. which would be ideal for you.
otherwise take a Low fare flight to a city in India (including Trivandrum and Cennai) and then find a cheaper fare to your destination.
Another alternative but i am not sure how much it will cost .. MIHIN LANKA to Dubai and then Air India Express to Amritsar..
Good Luck
Royal Nepal used to have this flight Colombo Kathmandu but stopped it a while ago..

I would not trust booking a flight on Mihin Lanka. They only operate one wet-leased 737-800. Tech probs will mean delays and/or cancellations.

Let's see how long before they run out of money this time.

Ok, let's say forget Sri lanka, and replace it with Nepal. If I spend March in Nepal, and Apr, May, June, in India, what kind of discount flights (under 100euro) exist between India, and Nepal? I am interested in spending those 3 months in India in the Himalayas, so if there are flights to mountain cities like Srinigar, please let me know.

Jetlite flies from Kathmandu to Delhi to Srinagar, for example. that flight with two segments would cost around 150 euros.
The choices of places available to you in northern india, with Himalayas as a background is awesome enough.. ladah, sikkim to give two extremes..
I would say fly into India from Kathmandu and worry about the rest later.. since you would be using other forms of transport.
jetlite.com This is a good airline.
