Melbourne Melbourne last week of March

Hi ppl,

I'm thinking of going to Melbourne last week of March.

Wonder how is the bush fire situation there?

Since I have sensitive ENT, should I still go ahead?

Sounds like your coming for the F1 Grand Prix in which case you can add ears to the problems - LOL.

The centre of Melbourne and suburbs have not been touched - its the outer areas that have had the probelms (still having). In the 3 weeks since Black Saturday there has only been a few days when I've noticed bushfire smell. If the weather is still then we do get smoke haze but it hasnt been too bad - well sort of. By end of March hopefully we'll have had some rain (almost none since before Xmas) and the fires will be out. I'd say come.

Oh F1 is on then? I didn't know about that... Guess the hotel prices must be expensive then... Hmmm... will wait another week and see then...

ENT should be fine. No major issues here. Um, the following week after March , first week of April is Easter so hotel may still be expensive. YOu need to perhards do some more homework as to the timing of your trip but amongst locals, April (Autumn) is considered a great time to visit our city :)

The grand Prix is 26th-29th of March. Hotel prices are very expensive ( Somerst on Elizabeth is $1500 for 4 nights). If you have no interest in F1 I'd reschedule.

It is currently raining in Melbourne and all the fires are out. There could be new ones from lightning but they would be small in comparison to the ones recently. The irony is tonight there is a fund raising concert at the MCG for the fires and we have had 20-30mm of rain today.
Your ENT shouldn't be a problem as autumn in Melbourne doesn't have the north winds that cause trouble here.
