Garda Banks in Garda, Lake Garda?
Posted: Tue February 24, 2009 02:03 PM UTC
We are staying at the Regina Adelaide Hotel and want to pay our bill in cash, as you get a discount if doing so. I assume that you can't just go and withdraw £4000 from an ATM/Bancomat. Which banks are in Garda town and will we be able to go into any bank with a Nationwide or RBS debit card and withdraw money?

These are the banks in Garda town: http://www.paginegialle.it/pgol/4-BANCHE/3-GARDA/l-2?

As for large amount withdrawals.... i don't really know.
You can ask when you arrive, and at worst withdraw a few at a time, paying you accommodation in advance little by little, making them happy and avoiding the risk to keep too much cash with you.

Plan ahead. Many banks in Italy have a limit on how much you can withdraw from their ATM-bancomat machines. We ran into a 250 euro limit many times. We each have a bank card so collectively we could get 500 euros a day.

You could also withdraw on your credit cards but that gets expensive. You might be better off simply paying the hotel with the card rather than cash unless it's a spectacular discount.
