Hi Andy, I know the area but not well enough to name specific restaurants unfortunately. On Bayview south of Eglinton, there are many restaurants to choose from - Thai, pubs, Italian ... a lot of choice.

At Sheppard/Bayview, (n. of Eglinton) in Bayview Village Mall there are two restaurants - Il Fornello's, which is good for pasta, pizza, etc. The salads are huge, if that interests you. Also, Oliver & Bonacini's - again pasta, pizza, and varied entrees.

Not on Bayview, but on Yonge Street, there is La Vecchia which is about 10 minutes walk north from Eglinton. (Not sure if they're open for lunch - must check).

Bayview south of Eglinton

Amaya - Indian and very good . not sure about lunch( they also have a takeout
at a separate location).
RIZ - Pan Asian
Lemongrass - Thai

and an assortment of others but I think only one Italian

Head West to Mt. Pleasant and south of Eglinton

Celestin - French lunch wed. to sun. very good
Lai Toh Heen - chinese - anotehr very good
Positano - Italian

All within walking distance( east side of Mt. Pleasant)

and an assortment of others tending towards European/Italian

There is a new French Bistro ,which has had excellent reviews name starts with an M ( I will let you know out tomorrow)
