What is the best way of getting from Marrakesh to Taghazote? Should I take a bus from Marrakesh to Essaouira and then change bus or take one to Agadir and then change? How regular are the buses to both locations from Marrakesh and what is the price like?

buses are pretty cheap in Moroco - wouldnt expect to pay more than £10 - grande taxis which are faster are not much more so either option is good. Taghazout is only a few kms north of Agadir whereas Essaouira is 160 km north of Agadir.
so up to you - if you want to go see Essaouira then why not - but if your aim is to get to Taghazout fairly direct then obviously the answer is via Agadir!

buses are usually fairly frequent thru the day - whether the international standard ones of CTM or Supratours, or local buses that will take a bit longer as there will be many stops to let passengers who want to get on and off at many places along the way whereas CTM and supratours are for those wanting to go to Agadir or Chichaoua along the way.

otherwise go by grande taxi - they leave when all 6 passengers seats are full - you can make it a bit faster and more comfortable by buying 2 seats - esp the 2 front seats if you can for optimal viewing if you want to take photos and for comfort.
getting to taghzout from Agadir should be about the same - by grande taxi - usualy the grande taxi stations are in same vicinity as bus stations.
