Flying into Providence July 3 and want to move onto to Boston upon arrival. Will arrive in the 5-6pm time frame and will have light luggage so can go on the train or bus

Any ideas/ suggestions? Appreciate your advice

There is a new intermodal (train/bus/airport/ hub) transportation center under construction at T. F. Greene but unfortunately it is not scheduled for completion until 2010. Until then you will have to take a shuttle or cab from the airport into Providence to catch a bus or mbta Commuter train up to Boston.
Here are some other methods to get to and from Green Airport.

Between Green Airport and downtown Providence:

Peter Pan Bus Lines

RIPTA Bus (Kennedy Plaza and Providence train station)
Airport Limousine
Airport Taxi
Kennedy Plaza offers connections to Greyhound Bus, Peter Pan, Bonanza Bus and other RIPTA routes throughout Rhode Island
Providence train station offers connections to Amtrack and MBTA Commuter Rail
Once you are in Kennedy Plaza or Providence Station you can get to:
Boston - MBTA Commuter Rail, Amtrak, Peter Pan Bus, or Greyhound
