I'm looking at travelling between the following:
Almaty airport to Bishkek
Bishkek to Cholpon-Ata
Cholpon-Ata to Karakol
Karakol to Almaty

Can anyone help with journey times by car and what the taxi/bus fare would be

Cheers

All transport services following that route will cost about 600 USD with English speaking driver and good 4wd vehicle.
There are no regular buses between Karakol and Almaty.

Almaty airport to Bishkek takes about 3 hours by shared taxi, a little longer by minibus. The journey is rather uninspiring and it's possible to fly by Air Astana for 60 USD. If you do go overland, head to the bus station and expect to pay up to 25 USD for a seat in a shared taxi.

Bishkek to Choplon Ata takes about 4 hours and should set you back about 10-20USD in a shared taxi from the West Bust station.

Choplon Ata to Kartakol is another 2-3 hours and 10-20 USD

All the info posted by the others is correct, just make sure you get in a community taxi, it will probably be someones personal car with a little taxi sign on top, and you can be picky with them, they go back and forth all day, you will have no problem finding a ride.
