Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Cusco very early taxis or buses to Macchu Pichu from Aguascalientes?
Posted: Sat February 21, 2009 04:50 PM UTC
Years ago I stayed at the Sanctuary Hotel and was able to view the sunrise over the ruins. Now the price is astronomical and prohibitive to stay at the Sanctuary for most people. Is there a way to get up above the ruins from Aguascalientes to view the sunrise? Or to stay past the last bus to view the sundown? Thanks!

bus will leave Aguascalientes on time for sunrise, I do not know the lastes at what time it is. Be early at bus stop, let say at 5? it might be a line waiting for buses

btw
take drink and food with you from Aguascalientes as Sanctuary is quite expensive also for a bottle of water.

the bus to the entrance is not mandatory. You can always hike up or down a marked but inclined trail.
