Bali Thank you!

Hello Everyone,

I got back to Iraq from Bali about two weeks ago, and just wanted to say thank you for all the helpful advice and answers to my completely random questions.

I had a wonderful time, bought many souvenirs, got many manicures and pedicures, became an Honorary Australian and had a great time with my mom.

I can't wait to get an opportunity to go again!

Thanks again!

Great to know that you had a great time in Bali--hopefully in Ubud, too.
Anyways, stay safe in Iraq and best wishes.

I did have a good time during my short stay in Ubud -- I visited the natural healer that Elizabeth Gilbert became friends with while she was in Bali to write "Eat, Pray, Love." Both my mom and I got readings, but I was the only one who actually got the "treatments" that Wayan prescribed. I would have stayed in Ubud longer, but by the time Wayan and her staff were done treating me, I spelled like a salad and was particularly sweaty, but next time I go to Bali (and I am going again) I'm going to stay half in Ubud and half by the beach again... when I actually know exactly what days I'm going to arrive and leave.

There's a good chance that when I met the right fella and we get married, I'll come back for the wedding. I LOVED the church next to my hotel, and think it would be great in photos, and I know my nearest and dearest would make the trip for my wedding, especially since Wayan also read our palms and saw me getting married twice...

Hi
I am also glad you had a good time in Bali, maybe next time for your beach stay you need to consider going to another part of Bali where the beaches are better than your experience this time (even in rainy seasons) Sanur has a great beach area now, Jimbaran also has better beaches than Kuta/Tuban, and probably the best beach in the South is Gerger beach near to Nusa Dua, there are some nice small hotels near to Gerger beach.

As for you getting married in Bali, it is a very special place to do that and Bali is fast becoming a popular romantic destination to do this.

Maybe (and this is meant light heartedly) when your palm was read and Wayan saw you getting married twice, the meaning was that in order for a wedding to be legal, there are two wedding ceremonies that have to be performed (religious and civil ceremonies)so it might not mean you would be married to two different people (but who knows). :)

Anyway as previous poster says stay safe in Iraq, and we hope to see you again in Bali.

We did actually visit Sanur for an afternoon -- my mom made a friend on her trip over to meet me, who coincidentally, was meeting her husband who was on leave from Afghanistan. I have to say, the Canadian Army has a much better system for sending people on leave from a combat theater...

I definitely plan on seeing more of the island when I come back, whenever that is. There were just too many things I could see going wrong if I had tried to plan too much this time. As it was, I arrived about five days later than I had originally planned. Although, maybe it was just who we were visiting, but Sanur was a little calm for me, and my mom felt the same. Although I could understand how, if it was my spouse I was seeing for the first time in a few months as opposed to my mom/daughter, I might want a little more seclusion...

I think Wayan actually said two husbands... two husbands and two kids. It's going to be interesting to see what actually happens.

Have a good week!
