Hi,all
My boyfriend and I stayed at Al's Hut (not the resort but the bungalows) for 8 nights. It was the best decision of our whole trip. Although the main street was hectic and crazy, Al's Hut provided a small oasis of calm! Our bunglow was situated closer to the beach and I never heard a peep from the hectic main street. The hotel is close to many parties on the beach so it's GREAT if you want to party all night and stagger back to your bungalow! However, the endless beats and music can be heard late into the night when you want to sleep!
The bungalow itself was PERFECT for us. It had a very comfy, big bed, sheets changed daily, bathroom cleaned daily, great air-conditioning, trustworthy safes at reception, great laundary service. For young couples and people who don't mind a small space - the bungalows are all you need! Don't forget to bring the mossie repelant....the grass near the huts attracts the mossies!
The actual location of Al's Hut is great. There are many restaurents/bars on the beach and main road that are in walking distance. We personally found the reception staff LOVELY. We talked with them every day, organising HEAPS of day tours. The reception has many pamphlets advertising day tours. We probably did them all! The hotel gives you a cheaper price - which is a plus!
