Hello,

I will be visiting Oporto for a weekend with some friends,
one is celebrating birthday and I've decided to prepare a surprise dinner.

Can you give me any suggestions on special restaurants, not very expensive,
and closer bar/clubs to go for a drink after dinner.

Special resteraunts depends on what you like - there's a couple of good ones in Cais de Gaia ( Portuguese barbeque and Bacalhau ) - the francesinhas one is excellent normally , there's two very good ones near the start of the tram that takes you to Foz ( one portuguese meat or seafood , one more eclectic ) either side of the square down from the tram , or if you want real traditional portuguese stodge and mountain cooking ( roast kid goat etc) go to Davilina in Vila Nova de Gaia ( one from the end of the yellow tube line ). Bars wise the cube square is your best bet , look for Cais Bar on the square it used to be my favourite.
