www.flghtmapping.com will give you UK carriers to all airports.

In this case I suspect the cheapest way may be to find a flight to Venice Marco Polo or Venice Treviso, then take the train to Verona.

Look at www.whichbudget.com and www.harefares.com for all European budget carriers and their routes.

www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html will give you train times, details and fares in English.

Mestre> Verona takes around an hour.

Treviso>Verona takes around an hour and a half.

If you fly to Marco Polo you can get the bus from the airport to Mestre, and get the onward train from there.

From Treviso you can either get the train at Treviso or from Venice S. Lucia (if you want to see Venice).

Leics gave you the chepest, but the best way to arrive here is the BA2596 flight from Gatwick to the VRN Catullo airport. Once there, a 15 minutes taxi (or shuttle bus) will bring you to the center of Verona.

Well, the "best" way is to rent a corporate jet, equip it with the finest foods and wines, and staff it with either beautiful or virile young members of the opposite sex (if you're so inclined)...but maybe this isn't what you meant ;-)

Note that Ryanair (at least) flies from London Stanstead to "Verona-Brescia"...like most of Ryanair's destinations, although they say "Verona", they mean the airport at Brescia, not the main airport at Verona...but even the airport at Brescia is closer than Venice...although, to be fair, the train system is so reliable and cheap in Italy that the "closest" airport should be only part of your calculations.

I'm with Effeti on this one. I fly backwards and forwards to Verona on a regular bais. If you live anywhere near London, British Airways as the simplest solution. London Gatwick directly to Valerio Catullo Airport.
Ryanair to Brescia is a possibility but don't be fooled by their on-line prices.
You pay for every piece of luggage, the first piece costing £30.00 each way, then they hit you £10.00 booking fee, each way. If you want priority boarding there is another charge and so on.What starts off looking like a bargain flight can end up costing you more than the British Airways flight.

But do check out the Easyjet fares to Marco Polo before you decide. Easyjet is not as ...erm......'grasping' as Ryanair, imo.

"im getting a little confused reading different suggestions"

Now we know WHY you're confused...even for us, the answer requires some research on near versus far airports, discount versus legacy airlines, time of day, lead time to the trip - all these things affect the cost and availability of transportation...and we haven't even started talking about the comfort thereof...

Ciao' a tutti!

Ciao Bill.... e ciao a tutti.

Ok, so no private Lear Jet full of playmates of the month (and maybe a magnum bottle of Amarone?) this time.
We will have to cope.
