Unfortunatley these days one hears much about
kidnappings in several places ?

Changing the subject how is the food down there
especially vegetables and fruits?

Is the land around there fertile?

Are there mineral and of mud baths in the area?

What is is like living there, is it sociable,
expensive, tighlty knit community?

Aguascalientes is safe.

especially vegetables and fruits?
Vegetables are fresh. Aguascalientes is a textile state but surrounded by large fields of fruits and vegetables.

Is the land around there fertile?
No, it isn't, Aguascalientes is an industrial state and city but they also grow fighting bulls, no plans in the state but in the sourrounding states.

Are there mineral and of mud baths in the area?
No, they are located in Guanajuato, about 2 hours away.

What is is like living there, is it sociable,
expensive, tighlty knit community
It is very sociable, cost of living is average compared within Mexico.

I would say this is one of the safer places in Mexico. I have been in a few taxi cabs late at night and alone. It was fine. The people are very kind and sweet. There are places in Mx. where I would NOT go out alone at night but Ags is NOT one of them. Have fun!
