Hi I am trying to find a hotel in Tampa that is close to Clearwater Beach. The ones on Clearwater beach seem to be motels? or very expensive hotels. We love the Embassy Suites and what they include so there are a few in Tampa that I would love to book but don't want to make the wrong decision. Please give me your advice or if you have any hotels in mind in Clearwater or closer to it that are decent. The ones we are looking at are and the top is the closest to Clearwater but I don't know which one to pick,which one is close to stuff we might go to, we don't plan on going to Busch Gardens.

The Airport one is probably the closest. Have a look at the BW Yacht Harbor Inn. It is not a bad substitution

Traffic is HORRIBLE in Clearwater and the area. Are you sure you
want to be in Tampa? I absolutely hate driving in that area.
We stayed for 2 nights in Indian Rocks Beach, very near Clearwater
and loved it! It was reasonable, clean, fun! you are 2 blocks from the beach.

Embassy suites, very good hotels, the one better is the westshore along the bay.
traffic to clearwater beach was a bit heavy but since i an old king of the road guy never found it bad. besides you have the best of both world city life in Tampa and the beach at clearwater not far away.

Thanks so much, I am looking at the Holiday Inn now. Were there a lot of places to walk to nearby?

Yes, we walked to the Beach and then there are restaurants, souvenier shops,
you even walk past the Historical Museum of Indian Rocks. :)
It is not as developed and busy as Clearwater Beach but that is a plus
to me.
It is an easy drive along the ocean north to visit Clearwater Bch.( 10 minutes)
oh and if you really want a quiet and beautiful beach, visit Sand Key Beach.
It is a State Park on the Ocean inbetween Indian Rocks and Clearw. Bch.
Bring quarters, you have to feed the meters there to park. It is lovely!!
Nice bathrooms and even showers.

There is also the Pinellas County Transit Beach Trolley that you can use to get to Clearwater Beach from Indian Rocks Beach or go south to St. Pete Beach. There is also Sheraton Suite Hotel at Sand Key, Just north of Clearwater Beach.

Do some searches on accomodations in also the whole of the Pinellas County beaches from Pass-a-Grille at the south, St. pete Beach, Treasure Island, Madeira Bearch, Redington Beach, Redington Shores, North Redington Beach, Indian Shores, Indian Rocks Beach, Belleair Beach, Sand Key, and Clearwater Beach at the north.

I think Sand Key Beach is actually south of Clearwater Beach, if it matters.
