Hi, a friend and I (two over-40 females) plan to rent a car in Belgrade, see as many interesting things as possible, and return the car 10 days later in Sarajevo. We don't care at all about partying or night life. We're interested in history and meeting & talking to people. Let me hear your itinerary ideas (where, how many days, how many hours driving, etc)! As a brazilian I may not plan a tour around Serbia. But at least showing you these hints you may know where to go by car.
A boat trip in Danube River should be fine too.

We did the trip by bus in June. Its a wonderful trip. the bus took 7 hours between Belgrade and Sarajevo . I would recommend it if you don't speak the language . We really enjoyed Kalemegdan Castle in Belgrade and spent a few hours roaming around there .From the top you get a good view of the city and both the rivers . In Sarajevo I recommend staying in the Old Turkish Quarter. Lots of narrow cobblestone streets, restuarants etc. We took a great little tour ( only 4 of us) to the former front lines , snipper alley and the tunnel museum .

Hi! You may wish to spend two days sightseeing Belgrade, one day sightseeing Novi Sad and make a field trip to Lepenski Vir. You may choose to be based in Belgrade since Novi Sad and Lepenski Vir are just a couple of hours drive from Belgrade.

I doubt any car rentals will let you drop off your car in Sarajevo. Instead, you may take a morning bus to Bijeljina, Bosnia (only two and a half hours ride) and make a short break there. Eat you lunch in Etno Selo (a replica of a central Bosnian village, visit the local monastery and continue your trip from there (it takes three and a half hours to Sarajevo).

While in Belgrade you may visit Kalemegdan Fortress, Knez Mihajlova Street, Skadarlija, Ethnographic Museum, Parliament, Temple of St. Sava, Nikola Tesla Museum, House of Royal family, Josip Broz Tito's mausoleum, take a boat ride on the rivers Danube and Sava, etc. (http://www.tob.co.yu/eng/).
