Auction Sales during this recession

Earlier this week I briefly attended an auction sale for a printing company (Grafikom) which had declared bankruptcy and was selling off the assets. (I was hoping to pick up a nice Mac G5 of which there were several).

Anyhow, there were some bargains obtained by some lucky bidders. The Macs sold for hyper-inflated prices...$1200-1500 each! Yet, you could have bid on the Luxel platesetter which originally cost more than $220,000...it sold fore a mere $500. And, a Fuji Lanovia 550 13x18 inch scanner went for $100. (Original cost, more than $45,000)

What's the best bargain you ever heard of or bid on in an auction?
