Bremen from Bremen to Berlin
Posted: Fri February 6, 2009 10:43 AM UTC
My parents are flying to Bremen, and going to Berlin also at same trip. They have had troubles by finding bus-timetables,and I promised to ask here. They found only one company witch went from Bremen around 9 oīclock (a.m) and took 7 hours. If you know if there is any other connections, and links to them in net. They speak German, but they are not common with finding things in internet. They found some prices, but my mother was wondering, did they understand everything right. They found allready flats to rent in Berlin, but this connection thing was the trouble. If you know prices of the tickets, that would be nice also. And is there any offers for senior-citizen?(at Finland they get -40% of bus-prices).Is there also a train-connection?They thought, that train is more expensive, but I donīt know have they red it somewhere or do they only think so.They donīt mind going with bus(I would..).Thanks allready,if someone can help!

Check www.bahn.de
The train takes about three hours and fares start at 29 Euro when booked ahead. I don't think there is a bus, as there really are no long-distance buses in Germany.
No discounts for senior citizens, but specials as the 29 Euro ticket.

The lack of long distance buses is due to the excellent railways in Germany using high speed trains (ICE) for the long distances.

If you book well in advance (max 89 days) Bremen to Berlin is from EUR 29/one-way. The ticket can only be used on selected train and refund is excluded.

They rather take bus,and found this page: http://www.berlinlinienbus.de/index.php?lang=en
It was 57e with return. They like to see sights on their way,and liked this opinion.Maybe it is the only one.But I didnīt see how to make it from Bremen to Berlin, not the otherway around.

i took berlin linenbus from berlin to copenhagen last month and that was very fine.
i can't see that there should be any problems in getting a ticket.
i bought my ticket at the berlin bus station 20 minutes before departure and paid 37 euros from berlin to copenhagen.
bremen should be slightly cheaper than copenhagen i would think.

We found the price from Berlin to Bremen, and it was 57e for seniors(my parents are over 65years),but I found only Berlin-Bremen-Berlin,not the other way(Bremen-Berlin-Bremen).But Iīll read it better after work.
Thankīs for that other link also,Iīll send it to father.

it will be the same price bremen-berlin-bremen.
and unless they really want to then there is no need to book it before they get there.
the lang distance busses in europe are very rarely full.

First I would check if they can get the specials for the trains. Faster and more comfortable.

Yes,I thought so,that the price is sma.But I understood, that the price ius that only when booked advice, and more expensive if bought from there.Thatīs why I tried to find the opinion of goin from Bremen to Berlin and back-if they book it now.It seemed that at booking-pages there was allways Departure from Berlin and you could only change the destination. But Iīll "study"tha pages better tomorrow. If they donīt need to book advice to have senior-price,the it wont be a broblem.
They really want to use the bus.I would take the train, but they like to sit long time at bus,and watch from the window.I think it might be,because they have used to travel long days by own car,and are now"learning"to use public transport.Witch might be good at that age.Even if they are"younger than they really are".
But thanks for train-info also!I started to think, maybe we should do it by train some day!Ryanair flyes straight to Bremen from here. They paid 70e for return-flights for two!!!It was even cheaper than Air Berlin.
