Silves Travel Forum

I'm looking for a street address for the Silves bus station. I've read that it's in the Old Town, but I don't know where the Old Town is.

It is not a bus terminal, just bus stops by the side of the road. The bus company ticket and enquiry office is at the municipal market building, about 100 metres away from where the buses stop. All the buses going out of town (eg to Albufeira, Portimao) stop on the side of the road marked EN 124, nearest the river, where there is a little shelter and some seats. It's just to the left of the left of the 'Ponte Romana' as you look at the map.

It's by the rather nice riverside area, about two minutes walk into the town centre. the castle and church are on top of a steep hill, which towers above the town.

Sorry I have just looked at that link above properly. The road I referred to asthe EN124 is the wide road running diagonally across, partly alongside the river. The actual bus stops are right where the road and river diverge. It's an old picture and where you can see cars parked is now a landscaped area for pedestrians.

By the way it isn't a Roman Bridge you can see, merely 8th or 9th Century people think!
