Hello everyone!!
In May I'm going to Malta and I'll be in Bugibba.ç
I'm very interested in travelling in the country... I would like to visit Gozo, Comino (Blue Lagoon), Valletta, Mdina and elsewhere, so I've got some questions:
Is it possible to take a boat directly from Bugibba to the Blue Lagoon?
Will I be able to do all those visits in a one day trip or will I have to pernoct overthere in the destiny/ies?
Thanks a lot for your help!

You won't be able to do all of those places in one day, but you will not need to stay overnight in any of them. There is far too much to see to even try to cram more than one place into each day trip.

Malta has a very, very good bus service which will take you all over the island. Aim to spend a day in Valetta, and at least a morning/afternoon in Rabat/Mdina.

You will be able to get to many of the superb prehistoric temples on Malta by bus as well. Often you will find that you need to go into Valetta and out again, as most routes are rather like the spokes of a wheel originating from Valetta.

Gozo deserves a daytrip of its own (plenty of local companies offering this by land/ferry/boat), possibly including Comino.

If you google 'Malta boat trips' you will come up with several sites, such as:

I don't know if any go directly from Bugibba: you may need to get yourself to somewhere else first (easy by bus).

Leics advice here is , as always, absolutely right.
We stayed in Qawra/Bugibba last summer.
There are boat trips from Bugibba harbour to the Blue Lagoon- however the majority seemed to be trips that included a drop-off for swimming etc and a later return possibly with a lunch included. (In other words they didn't just go out for a look and then back again. They were not particularly expensive though. Possibly this is different slightly earlier in the season, I am not sure.
You have a brilliant bus station in the centre of Bugibba and the bus services are absolutely brilliant too. Very cheap, and very frequent. We got day tickets for approx 3 euros each but you can buy single tickets for a few cents (if you have small change - the drivers don't like changing big bank notes when there is a queue!) Tickets on the bus or at the booth at the bus station.
Many trips can be done straight from Bugibba but many more need a trip to valletta and then change buses there.

We did an organised trip to Gozo (well worth it as there are few buses there - you need a car otherwise) - and that passed by the Blue Lagoon. Gozo has the Azur Window and that alone made my trip there worth while.
One bus trip which we found successful was to take the bus to Mosta (to see the church with the unexploded bomb / damaged ceiling) which took about 40 mins to see - there is nothing much else there! - and then back on the next bus along to go on to the craft village just outside Mdina. then back to the same bus stop and back on the bus to go on to Mdina.
Oh, and do visit Rabat just next door to Mdina (a short walk) for the catacombs etc.
I've got some tips and photos - email me and I can go-on for ages about the wonderful bus trips we took. Mdina, Marsaxlokk, Dingly Cliffs, Vittoriosa,...............

Don't forget the hydrofoil to Mt.Etna Sciclly - most coach companies offer this and I think will pick you up from your hotel - its a long day and you will either stop at Taromina or Modena = make sure you get a cappacino - wonderful. Check the right side of the boat to sit on for the views. The stately home is worth a look ?? Palace Reale??

Hi,
We went on a boat trip to the blue lagoon last july. It was a great day out the blue lagoon is great for swimming and snorteling,
Transfer from our hotel and lunch was included and sailed from the Sliema ferry area.
I would pay the extra for the transfer a lot cheaper than a taxi. The trip was run by captain Morgan you can book online or at the Sliema ferry point also you can go to Valetta a short trip on the fery.
I like to catch the bus in the morning to Valetta and then catch the ferry to Sliema nice to wander about looking at the shops or a bite to eat or drink. The bus stop to Bugibba is on the promanade close to the ferry place.

Yes the Sliema boat trips (Capt Morgan and others) will also do the trip to th Blue Lagoon - but you asked abut going directly from Bugibba which you can also do. These trips do, I believe, offer swimming and lunch options also.

I still say Gozo is best with an organised trip. We visited the capital, Victoria, as well as Xlendi and Marsalforn - and the Azur window which was gorgeous (nicer than Blue Lagoon??)
Search some Google images for these places and see what you think - also the Malta pages in VT Members sections.
