Bus schedules Posted: Thu January 29, 2009 07:04 AM UTC
We are going to Trier this weekend and has no place to stay yet. I am planning to book an accommodation in Stadtwaldhotel in Gillenbach but it seems that it is only reachable by bus no.12 from the main station.
My question is, do Trier public busses run regularly on weekends too?
Is there any link that i can check out the bus chedules?
While i'm at it, is Stadtwaldhotel a good choice to stay in for a night or do you have any other suggestions? The hotel looks good in the pictures of their website.
Thank you so much.

Hi Bell,
this is the link to the timetable for public transport in Trier. I am afraid it is not very clear and easy to use. However, busses run regularly on weekends too, but with a reduced frequency.

VRT timetable
http://efa9.vrn.de/vrt/XSLT_TRIP_REQUEST2?language=de
Start: Trier Hbf (or any other stop in Trier)
Ziel: Trier, Am Gillenbach 12
then click on [Fahrten anzeigen]
Besides the city bus #12 the stop "Fachhochschule" is also served by regional bus lines #201 #221 #222 and #441.
But you could also walk (~ 1,5 -2 km from the city centre) if it must be. Somewhat uphill however. And a taxi for this distance won't be that expensive either.

well indeed great responses so far. you wont have a problem, Trier have been couple times, and walking is best ,all easily reachable.however, why not stay closer, this is their sister hotel in which i have stayed both times

Hello Pedro,
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep it in mind. I haven't book anything yet. I usually book my hotel when i get to my destination.
