Hi everyone, I will be traveling to Liverpool on the 21 May. I will be in the city for 7 days. This is my 1st time in England.

I would like to know where can I get cheap accommodation (less than 50 pound each night) as most of the time I will not be in the room; will be out walking in the streets and visiting places.

Hope anyone can give me good advice.

The official tourist information site lists all accommodation and has a seacrh facility:

You don't need to make a booking online to use the search facility.

For 50GBP or less you are probably looking at bed & breakfasts, guest houses and hostel accommodation. You may find some hotels which offer single rooms for thisamount. Be careful to check where places are: too far out from the centre and you will be spending what you save on transport.

www.hostelworld.com will also give information about cheaper accommodation in the area.

You can get a hotel for £50 per night, with a central location!!!

Try Holiday Inn, Formula 1, Premier inn etc...
Try laterooms.co.uk or travelsupermarket.co.uk

Try to stay as close to the city centre as possible as public transport is quite expensive!!

Try the Dolby Hotel which is very close to the Albert Dock and the new Liverpool 1 development. The website says they have rooms from £41 per night. Also if you are going to use public transport, you can get a saveaway ticket, which will cover you to travel off peak for the buses trains and ferries. A ticket that covers all of Merseyside, and will take you as far as Chester, Southport and Ormskirk, costs £4.50. Note though that you are not allowed to travel before 9.30am, unless it is a weekend or a bank holiday, when you can travel all day. These tickets are available from all train stations, Merseytravel shops and most large newsagents. There is also a merseytravel desk at the airport that sells them.
