Alexandria Walking from cruise ship to Pompey's Pillar

Is it possible to walk from the Cruise Terminal to Pompey's Pillar and then to the Catacombs? We are fit 50 somethings and will be in Alexandria in September so not too hot.

It all depends on where your ship is docking. Alex is a big city; the beaches stretch out over more than 3 km. But taxi's are cheap and using your bargaining skills you can hire a taxi for a day. It shouldn't cost more than 100 to 150 LE for a day.

Montaza Gardens are great. The Greco/Roman museum is closed but the Alexandria Museum is well worth a visit. As well as the Great Library and Fort Qait Bey. And don't miss the souk!!!

wij zijn in oktober 2 dagen (ook met een cruiseschip) in Alexandrie. Heb je voor ons wat tips en/of een betrouwbare gids/chauffeur?
