Departamento de Montevideo How safe is it to walk around Parque Prado & Parque Rodo?

Is it O.K. to take a taxi from the old town to Parque Prado & Parque Rodo and just wander around, or would we be better to take a group tour? I'm not sure how safe the parks are in th say time.

Parque Rodo is not that far from the Old Town area... but Prado is not exactly nearby, so a taxi might be quite expensive. I would just take a public bus.
And like said before, during day-time... it's pretty safe. Either way... use common sense!

As said before, use common sense and won't be a problem, specially during daytime. You'll find many people walking and jogging.
