Key West: Crowded in March? Posted: Fri January 23, 2009 10:18 PM UTC
My Boyfriend and are heading to Key West the last week of March. We have been once before, but on a cruise and were only there for a day. I was wondering what the tourist traffic was like during that time. Is it generally crowded? Also any recommendations on what we should do while we are there. We are in out mid twenties and very active. Thanks for the help!

It definitely could be crowded due to college spring breaks. In terms of things to do, there is plenty of nightlife. Waht type of things to do are you looking for?

Of course we will hit up the night life. But I don’t think we are looking to be drunk the whole week though. We have both been out of college for sometime now. I was just wondering about activities during the day. When we were there for the one day with the cruise ship we did parasailing. I have been looking at the Key West websites. I was just looking for some “off the beaten path” stuff or “must do things” that not very many tourists know about. Just thought I could get the real info from locals or people who frequent the Keys.

Also do you think that it would be so crowed that I should book those activites in advance, i.e wave runners, sunset cruises and stuff like that. My boyfriend waits for the last minute for everything and he thinks that it will be fine to wait until we get down there. He thinks that we might get a better price then booking in advance. Which was true when we went on the cruise, we went parasailing for practically nothing. I am just afraid things will be booked because of spring break.

well your boyfriend is right, wait to get there, you will be fine. But remember Key West is small, famous, not many sites not frequented by tourists, its the business there.
parasailing is an activity there right off the beach Atlantic side. You might want to ask those sites for current info too.
