Punta Cana Too busy in March?
Posted: Fri January 23, 2009 01:58 AM UTC
Hi,
I was looking to go on vacation toward the end of march when I realized that is spring break for colleges. My boyfriend and I are 25 and still like to party a bit and drink but I wouldn't want to have a party scene everywhere with loud drunks 24/7. I have never been on vacation and would like to be able to relax. Is it going to be way too busy for us to enjoy ourselves? (march 20 -26th probably). Please let me know what you think. Thanks! - Erin

Hi Erin,

Whether the resorts in Punta Cana will be full of loud drunks or not is hard to predict. IMO, those who want to party till they drop, should head to the North Coast where the night life is better, and those who want to take it easy should head to Punta Cana. AFAIK there's only the one discotheque in Punta Cana, outside the hotel installations.

Maybe you could get a deal at a hotel in Samaná/Las Terrenas? Worst case scenario, see what you can find in Juan Dolio/La Romana.

Hope it helps.

MMmmmh you can go to juan dolio if u want theres some apartments that u can rent and rest some time in peace alone whit you bf you just have to buy your own food and all but the view its amazing right in front of the beach and down of the apartments there is a cafe and some restaurants if u want to visit santo doming you just have to take a bus and right on. just be careful to those beggers dont give anything to them. 1 more thing if u want theres some hotels too in juan dolio but if u really really want some calm city in the day and crazy in the night come to santiago xP

That's true. Santiago is much calmer and less touristy than Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, etc.

You're right, Santiago is quieter but you know very well that Santo Domingo is #1 ;) (born and raised there too) - joking!
