Anaheim Driving from Vegas to Anehiem
Posted: Tue January 20, 2009 01:29 AM UTC
Hi,
I am from Australia and my husband and I are coming over for a holiday in February. we have hired a car to drive from Vegas to Anehiem. I was wanting to know how many miles it is, how long it will take us and what time of day would be the best to travel. We plan to make the trip on a friday.
Thanks
Tammie

fun trip through the desert. It's about 265 mile over Hwy 15. There is a great ghost town on the way that you should consider stopping at. How long it takes will depend on your speed and the lack of CHP along the way.

Average time is around four hours. It can be a little faster if there are only fuel or food pit stops. The best time is in the morning, as the sun will be to your back. There could be snow (unlikely but...) at some points, so after 10 am before 11 am is the best time. Friday will be heavy, but in the opposite direction (those going to LV). Make sure the gas tank is full before you leave LV. You will take the I-15 south about 230 miles with a fuel/food pit stop in Barstow. Take the CA-60 west about 17 miles, then the CA-57 south about 12 miles. Anaheim is in the area around Lincoln Ave. Total is about 264 miles.

Where are you staying in Anaheim? Given that you are here on holiday, I am guessing somewhere near Disneyland. Larry's directions works, but the 60 freeway on a weekend is pretty bad in both directions unless you arrive late night/early morning. An alternative is I-15 to CA-91 and then onward to wherever you are staying in Anaheim. If it is in the Disneyland area, take CA-57 south from CA-91 west (or CA-60 if you decide to try that) and get off at Katella (turn right). The signs will guide you to that area of Anaheim. If somewhere else, let me know and I can give you additional driving directions.

We love the Aussies, in general you Australians happens to be easiest people to travel with, down to earth to traveling, so much fun to be with, practical people in many ways, but above all we just love the Aussies! Anyway answering your enquiries. From Las Vegas to Anaheim it is approximately 266.14 miles at easy pace driving at four hours and about 20 minutes. Regardless it being a Friday (except on American holiday such as Thanksgiving and other big time holidays) best time to start traveling is right after breakfast avoiding the dark as it's always easier traveling daytime specially if your not familiar with the area.. It sounds like you want to end up in Disneyland Hotel & Resorts, is that correct? If so, these is the route we normally follow...Please get on the Northwest on this street called E. Bonanza Road toward North of Las Vegas Blvd/ Hit NV-604. Then make a left onto North Las Vegas Blvd/NV-604. Watch for the North 515 –then merge onto I-515N/US-93 N/US-95 toward ELY/RENO (this would approximately be 5 miles). Then Merge onto I-15 S via EXIT 76A toward LOS ANGELES (This is crossing into California. Approximately 231 miles). Then watch for WEST 60- Merge onto CA –60 West toward L.A. (this would be approximately 17 miles). Then take or get on to CA-57 toward SANTA ANA/CA-60 ALT West Brea Cyn Road (these would be approximately 13 miles). Then get on the famous road which is BALL ROAD and use the EXIT 3. This would be approximately 3 miles only). Make a quick right onto East Ball Road approximately 2 miles. Then a quick left onto South Disneyland Road about 5-8 minutes drive. Then if your really going to Disneyland Hotel then make a right turn onto West Magic Way which is around the corner, so drive sloooow. And that’s the hotel. Enjoy your stay in Anaheim. We hope we were able to help you in anyway. Cheers!

Listen and learn should be read and learn. The Australian couple were coming over for a holiday in February and now is near the end of May. I believe it still goes Jan., Feb, March, April and May. But, great tips for others to use in the future.

Larry or whatever you wish to be called: "travelgourmet" I think there is no point in being sarcastic, from the way I read Listenandlearn he was just trying to be very detailed ...regardless if it was Feb or other months the route still remains the same....good luck to you Larry...

The problem that replying after the fact is that those that answered in the past are going to receive a notice that someone has replied to a question in the forum, no matter when the origial posts were made. If you reply to questions, it does help if it is timely. You may have presumed I was being sarcastic and I am sorry you felt that way, when I was going for humor based on the VT name listenandlearn and said the name should be read and learn to understand that the person who posted the question had needed the info in February, so read and learn seemed right. A joke. I also said it was a great tip and could be used by those in the future. Lighten up and glad you have replied to the forum, no matter your choice of words. Oh, and thanks for the good luck wish. Same to you.

I vaguely remember this post. Sounds like the directions came from Google Maps or something similar. Anyhow, the OP never got back to us saying exactly where they were staying in Anaheim, so assume they got directions on their own. For all we know, they could be visiting friends or relatives on the east side and then you have completely different directions.
