Hi everyone,

I am coming to Bratislava really soon. I will be landing in Letisko Airport Bratislava and was wondering which is the best way to get to the city centre. Which bus do I have to use? I guess it's better avoid taxi cause it is usually expensive.

There is a bus stop right outside the airport terminal. Bus no61 goes from here to the train station.

Current price of the bus ticket is 60-70 cents, for this ride, actually for one hour and you can change a bus. I donīt know correct price, because I donīt use buses here. You will need a coins to buy a ticket. Be carefull, driver donīt sell tickets! and you must have one, when you board the bus. So, buy them before. Penalty for ride without valid ticket is 40 euros. Ticket is valid, after you mark it in red boxes inside a bus.

Can I get to the center with a taxi? How much would it cost?

Yes, you can take a taxi, but my suggestion is to avoid a company "MB taxi". They have just luxury Mercedes Benz cars and are pretty pricey. There is a lot of MB taxi cars, and taxi drivers, at the airport, you will look them. Actually, this is their only area. Better way is call taxi by telephone, from other company. Itīs much more cheaper (50% of MB taxi, or even cheaper) and they will come max. 15 - 20 minutes after your call. But the problem here is mostly very poor, or no english. And when they find, you are a foreigner, they will try to rip you off. Donīt pay more than 20 euros for airport - centrum ride, this is normal price.
