Belize Diving Trip in Belize- Best Area/Hotel To Stay to Focus on Diving
Posted: Mon January 19, 2009 02:19 AM UTC
I am heading to Belize on Feb 5. to spend 3 days doing as much diving as possible. I'm a novice to intermediate diver and will really be trying to dive most of the time I'm there. Can anyone please recommend a specific area to stay (e.g. I've read about Ambergris, is that the best place?). Also, any recommended hotels that specialize in arranging dive trips or that are popular amongst divers?

I'm going by myself so I'd be interested in staying at a "divers" hotel where I might be able to meet up with others going out. Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Thanks!

stay here and you will pampers with friends in a cozy place, lots of diving in the place Ambergris, yes it is the place. I was there last in 2002, but many of my friends in the Americas continue to go there every year.

Ambergris is a great place to visit. There's a little hotel in San Pedro call the Sunbreeze, across the street from the airport. It is also a very, very short walk to town. There is a very good dive shop next to the hotel as well.

Otherwise, Ramon's Village is a decent diver's hotel w/dive shop. It's just more expensive.

The diving is amazing!!! You are going to love it!

Ambergris is the place to find the most dive shops with Caulker being your next good choice. I use Amigos del Mar but they are all good. All the hotels can arrange trips but some of the resorts on the north end have their own dive masters so you get a more personal experience.

You'll like Ramons-It's in a good part of town-close to everything but not downtown. I've eaten in the restraunt and the foods not bad.The cabins are interesting I'd ask for a second floor unit near the beach and avoid the units by the road as I've heard they can be noisy.

I'm not a diver -Funky ear- but I snorkel when I'm there.I liked Mexico rocks and tres Cocos this time.
