Boston Ideas???

I have the first two weeks off work in February and am about to book to come over to Boston to meet a friend. I will spend the weekends with her in Boston but plan to travel up to New York for a few days. How many days would you spend in New York (especially if your by yourself)? Is there anywhere else you would go to in the area that is not too expensive? Is there anywhere resonably cheap to go skiing near by?

Cheap and Skiiing are pretty much oxymorons, but you can get some of the best skiing in the East (I've skied most, but am a convert to the west), only a couple hours from Boston. From Boston, just head up Hwy 93 to Concord then branch over to Hennika for Pat's Peak for less expensive; 30 minutes more to Exit 23-25 will take you to Tenny Mountain; a few miles more to Loon and Waterville Valley.

Head a bit west into Vermont for Snow, Stowe, Okemo, Killington (one of my favorites), and countless others.

"days in NYC" ... more like "weeks in NYC"... but a few days at a time to catch the new plays or discover a new neighborhood. You can never tire of NYC
