Santiago Ground Transportation Valparaiso to Santiago

Can anyone advise me as to the best way to get from the Valparaiso ship terminal to the Providencia area of Santiago. We are a group of 4 persons with 4 suitcases. Would the buses be able to carry luggage. We would be arriving FEB. 15 AT 0600.

lots of buses at least once per hour.
you'll have to take a taxi to the Terminal of Valparaiso. then catch the next bus (Turbus and other companies go) to Santiago. there will be room in the underside compartment to carry your luggage for no extra charge (unless you want to tip the guy 100 or 200 pesos who is loading the luggage).
from Santiago Terminal (i don't know for sure which one you will be left at), you can take the Metro (direccion Escuela Militar) to where you need to go in Providencia. you'll have to check a map as to which stop is the closest. otherwise take a taxi from the Terminal.

The bus is one option, but you need to see if it suits your group.
You have to be very careful in bus stations with your belongings and the metro stations have a lot of stairs from the platforms to the ticket booth level. There is often an escalator from there to the street. Do not try to use the metro anywhere near rush hours. This would mean before 9-9:30 am in your case. A taxi from the bus station to the area of your hotel is a better idea but you might not fit everyone plus luggage in one taxi (also an issue getting from the cruise terminal to the bus station in Valparaiso). Turbus has it's own terminal in Santiago, and inside there is a booth for booking a shared shuttle van, Turtransfer. However, they charge per person and depending on where you are going. It will be about US$8 per person to Providencia.
The other option is a taxi or van from the cruise terminal to your hotel. This can be arranged at the desks in the cruise terminal.
Once you add up the costs for 4 people, you might find it better value and less stress to book something from the cruise terminal to the hotel. A lot would depend on whether you were a family group or sharing costs between 2 couples.

Hi

Do you know how far (distance), from the cruise ship port to the bus station in Valparaiso?

Does the bus take you to Santiago airport?
or a bus terminal near airport?

Do you know the # of bus Line from bus terminal to airport?
Also how far (distance)

Thank you
