Salvador da Bahia Any one coming to Salvador for Carnival?
Posted: Fri January 9, 2009 10:44 PM UTC
we are planning to go to Salvador for Carnival. Just wondering any tip about things to do and avoid. We paln to be there from Feb 17 to Feb feb 25. Anyone coming, may be we could meet-up for a drink? We have rented an apartment in Barra and looking forward to great time.

Thank for any tips...

I am a retired brazilian advised by MD I shall drink water. My lung is bruised by fibrous and so my breath is not normal. I'm 60's and further bad oxygenated.
So I am the odd one out nowadays. I take care of grandsons and granddaughters these days. This is by far the biggest move I use to dare.
I use to spend some time in Internet as well.
Salvador carnival is set in motion, sound, alcohol, dance, kisses. As far as I know brazilian idlers they use this happy hours in order to make some easy money. So be caution. Do not keep the valuable at hand. And, keep your hotel address in your pocket and your pocket money in order to return safely after carnival. And keep the group together.

tips--
www.bahia-online.net is your best online resource to get an idea of the city--neighborhoods, beaches, historic sights, music, etc.
The city is pretty much a zoo during Carnaval with the invasion of tourists, and a lot of locals just clear out, or even stay home in the bairros that are not in the midst of the craziness. You'll be busy with the Carnaval activities so, if you like your taste of Salvador, come back again at a calmer time to really explore the city and get to know it better.

Stay safe.
