last minute affordable accommodation

Anyone help - I've found Abu Dhabi hotels ridiculously expensive for a conference I really want to attend late January. Does anyone know of any alternative types of accommodation ie other than the main hotels/appartments - I've tried numerous international websites and its the same story in all of them. The UK exchange rate at present makes this almost impossible for a non-profit budget.

Well not realy, as a tourist your only choice is a hotel. Check with travel agents in your area maybe they can offer you a good deal.
