Cambodia Floathing village - unaccessable due to low water?
Posted: Thu January 8, 2009 04:26 PM UTC
I have read somewhere that the lake is not accessable during Feb to May due to low water levels?

Can some one confirm the validity of this?

most of these floating villages are only floating in the wet season.
when it's dry season there is barely any water there and it's just houses on very long stilts.
i was there 5 weeks ago and there was water everywhere, but that does change in the dry season.
you can still visit the village, just not by boat.

i'm not totally sure, but i think it will be fairly dry.
when i was there in late november the dry season just started and from what i remember they told me that they would have fairly dry land around the houses from mid february.
not 100% sure about this info though.

Hi,

we were in Cambodia near Tonle Sap in april last year, we weren't able to go on the water, so it is not a good time to go to these floating villages, and it was very very hot!!
