Dear fellow VTs,
Does anyone know about this place in Idaho? How far is it from Boise, the main city in Idaho state?

The maps say 42 miles from Mountain Home to Boise via I-84. I've only driven through once. It's become somewhat of a distant bedroom community for Boise.
There's very little in that region. Mostly farms and ranches. I think it's very pretty though.

It's less than an hour from Boise. It has little to recommend it as a tourist attraction. Southeast of Mountain Home, about 30 minutes away, is Bruneau Dunes, the tallest sand dunes in North America (about 400 feet high). Southwest of Boise is the Snake River Gorge, which has 300 foot high cliffs down to the river--quite steep and scenic.
