family with 'kids' in their 20's looking for inexpensive lodging Feb. 15-21-- walking distance to beach, restaurants- Madeiras Beach or in that area.30 minutes or so from the airport. Some nite life but not loud.

FYI, Tampa is not on the Gulf and you mentioned Madeira Beach, so I am guessing you want to be near the Gulf Beaches. There are a couple of places you might try. My parents formerly owned a condo at one of the properties. They are at St. Pete Beach. Try Gulf Winds Condos or the Friendly Native for reasonable rates. (Do a google search on the names with St. Pete Beach.) These are just a across the street from Upham Beach, the street is a small local street, not Gulf Blvd.

I agree. Gulf blvd is expensive during February. Thats when we still have all of the snowbirds and spring training is starting up. If I were you I would check for hotels off the beach. You will get a great deal and if you have a car getting around wont be a problem.
