Where to stay in Mauritius?

I want to go to Mauritius on the 23rd Dec 2009 - 3 Jan 2010.
I am looking for a house that sleeps 10 people/5 couples.
I would prefer a place that is self-catering, and has a pool.
Preferably near the sea as well.

Is there any part of Mauritius that would be great for this type of accommodation? What is the weather like at that time of the year?

Hi Ryan,
The main areas for self catering are Perybere in the north of the island, Trou aux Biches and Mont Choisy in the north west and Flic en Flac in the west. December is summer with temps of 25/34C with some rain. There are lots of places if you google Mauritius self catering/apartments/immoblier. You can also try the Mauritius Tourist Board who are helpful with accomodation. Feel free to contact me by mail for futher information.

I would advise you to contact "Pallagino" located few minutes walk to the beach in Flic-en-Flac , I found them on TripAdvisor. We are going there in November with our 2 kids. Personally I am excited to try all the good authentic foods prepared by the Chef.
