Ko Phangan Where to Stay on Koh Phangan for snorkeling & relative quiet
Posted: Sun January 4, 2009 03:29 AM UTC
My wife and I will be on Koh Pha Ngan in late Jan./early Feb. (leaving well before the full moon party), and we're trying to figure out which beach areas in the northwest, away from the port and far from the party zone is best. Looking for places that are good for snorkeling, swimming, kayaking, hanging-out, etc. Anyone with suggestions for beaches and/or mid-range bungalow places with or near good basic Thai food??

Thanks a lot!!!

Ypu may try Ao Thong Nai Pan. There are two beaches here Ai Thong Nai Pan Noi where there are some good resorts; accommodation is cheaper on Yai beach. Ypu may also try this website, full of interisting notices:

Still wondering about places on the west and northwest part of the island... for example, Haad Salad? Haad Yao (west)? Haad Tien (west)? Mae Hadd? Any ideas or opinions?

Thank you!

hello, try Haad Yuan, its private and can only be reached by boat, i spent 10 days on haad yuan, and a total of 25 on koh phangan, i recommend big blue bungalows,,there are only 2 or 3 hotels on the beach its where i will try to convince my wife to honeymoon if i ever marry!
