Whale Watching in late December

Hi all,

my partner and I are planning to visit South Africa in December next year. We'd like to have some whale watching nearby Hermanus, but we're reading on the internet whale watching in South Africa is done from June to November.

Is that right? Do you think it would not be possible to see whales on late December?

I live in a coastal village where lots of whales are seen in season. Saw the last whale on 11 November this year, but have seen spray far out from the beach even up to this morning. Since 11 November, no photo would definitely have shown a whale. Sorry

The reasons the whale watch cruises are in that particular season is for the simple reason that it is the migration season and the best chances to see them. Other time of the year your chances to see any is close to null.
