I will be in Auckland for new year at night and was wondering what to do.
If you can help me, thanks in advance.....

I would surely hang out on the waterfront/Viaduct Harbour or on the other side on the North Shore/Devonport to see the fireworks over Auckland City.

The Auckland City Council has a dreadful information site about events, and this one:

is not much better, as most events are out of the city.

If you want to have dinner somewhere it is high time for making a reservation, probably too late...
