Hello,

I am in the early stages of planning a trip to the Seychelles. Is it fair to say that late April would be considered as "low" season? I have been trying to research prices and availability at some of the hotels/hostels for that time frame, but have had very limited luck. Am I researching too far out (from when I plan to travel), or should I just assume that most places will have rooms available during late April? I am not looking for a five star hotel, or anything extravagant, just a nice affordable place with somewhat friendly staff, and a place to sleep. I don't plan to spend much of my time in my room, so affordability is more important than amenities. If anyone has any answers, helpful information, or suggestions for what I seek, I would be quite grateful.

Hi there,
I just recently came back from The Seychelles and I had one of the most pleasant experience that I had to tell to some of the travellers heading there.
Well, we stayed on mahe and praslin for a few days and I can't believe it that travel agencies in europe do not advertise any of the smaller wonderful guesthouses available there. They always only sell big and 5-star hotels.
We were so happy to have found this one family guesthouse on praslin because we are planning to go there again at the end of the year and this will really cut down our expenses on accomodation!
the guesthouses all have excellent bathrooms, kitchens and all that you need to make you feel at home. We also cooked soemtimes but many times we also ate the wonderful traditional creole dishes that can be ordered from the owners!
My wife loved it so much that we have recommended the place to so many of our friends and relatives.
the place can be found online but we have made good friends with the owners that we will always inform them personally when we are coming!
By the way, the price of the whole bungalow for one night was 100e!!!

This is great! I would love to get the name of the bungalow, if you still have it? Any other useful tips or places to see, would be welcomed too. How did you get around? Car rental? Bus? Taxi? Bicycle?
